Brandy Thomas

Functional Planner and Systems Analyst

Brandy Thomas began her career with a Fortune 500 company almost 20 years ago as an entry-level analyst. Working with basic software like SAP in 2007 was an incredible start and began her journey of discovering systems and data. After several years with Tech Data, she returned to her hometown and took on the role of owner/operator at her family’s Dealership and Finance Company. This experience, though not focused on systems and data, did allow some experience and growth as the auto industry began to catch up with technology and advancements. Her main accomplishment during her time with the dealership had to do more with fine-tuning her project management skills and relationship development. This has served her well while navigating multiple clients with competing needs and timelines.

In 2021, the time came to move on. She began taking on entry-level data jobs until her last role with Averett University. Within a year, she was promoted and was managing a full Salesforce Education Cloud implementation. While working with the cross-campus staff, she developed a deeper understanding of the processes and policies typical within an educational organization. She also gained a solid knowledge base of best practices for universities that aid in problem-solving and determining the best software solutions for all types of situations. Since working with Magellan Learning Solutions as a consultant, she has earned her Salesforce Admin certification and is in the process of obtaining the same for Slate as well as other Salesforce certs.

Brandy currently lives in her hometown in Virginia with her husband and 2 girls. Living close to her parents and extended family has been a blessing. Being there for her family is highly important. In her free time, she enjoys reading, her collection is quite varied, and traveling.

“When I took the job at Averett, I had never heard of Salesforce before, nor had I ever worked in the Education realm. I decided to do what I do best and dig in. Over the last three years I have developed a love for system architecture and project management. It is now my great joy to be able to work with so many schools, helping them to create and improve Enrollment and Admissions processes using a myriad of software tools. Building efficiency and providing practical and usable tools to faculty and staff is my favorite part of the work I do.”
