The Magellan Team

The Magellan team brings more than a century of higher education experience to your project. They have executive-level experience at regionally accredited institutions of higher education in both the private and public sectors, and have worked in areas ranging from academic affairs to student services to assessment and institutional effectiveness to instructional design and IT.

They also bring a workforce of more than 300 subject matter experts, instructional designers and editors, and other personnel familiar with the online space to help you identify and implement solutions for your challenges. As experienced faculty and administrators, the Magellan team will work alongside university stakeholders to tailor and stand up curriculum and other associated services to each campus–in a timely fashion. Magellan focuses on providing the expertise and workforce you need to turn your challenges into opportunities.

The Project

Best practices, institutional data, and student success power the Magellan process.

Discovery Phase

Magellan begins its journey with each partner institution in a discovery phase that explores its current course offerings and identifies.

Course Template

The goal of the Discovery Phase is to then inform a course template that will undergird the online student’s experience moving forward.

Course Development

Magellan will work with personnel on the campus to develop and deliver content in a format that foregrounds student experience.

Course Review

Magellan will then evaluate each new or newly transitioned online course for ADA compliance and industry best practices.

Professional Development

Magellan will provide in-depth professional development and coaching for all faculty and staff involved in the online program.

The End Game

Higher education needs to be responsive and nimble. With the enrollment cliff looming, legislators exercising increasing oversight, and real gaps in degree attainment, the need for flexible, relevant content—delivered in a student-centered way—is clear. More than half of US Higher Education students are already taking an online course [2].

Magellan brings the workforce, experience, and expertise that can help campuses improve their existing online offerings or branch out into new territories. Your students’ success is your campus’s success.
