Fuller Theological Seminary has secured the services of Magellan Learning Solutions to help us strengthen our online programming. Magellan is a firm that develops online educational and operational solutions for academic institutions, industry, and other organizations. Their service areas include consulting, lead generation, marketing, enrollment services, curriculum development, faculty and staff training, student retention models, student success strategies, and more.
Their mission statement sums up their collaborative spirit and philosophy: “Magellan Learning Solutions supports its clients’ educational missions with tailored curricular and operational solutions to help them thrive.” The Magellan principals have been working in online education since the early 2000s. They have a range of clients, primarily faith-based and state-system colleges and universities.
Over the coming months, Magellan will be working closely with Fuller’s leadership, faculty, and staff to conduct a comprehensive assessment, exploring ways to strengthen and broaden the impact of the institution’s online offerings. These findings will inform the creation of a report that will guide the development of an innovative and strategic approach to enhancing Fuller’s online presence.
Strengthening our capacities to extend the impact and influence of Fuller Theological Seminary’s quality vocational formation calls us to ensure effectiveness and faithfulness. We have much to offer the church and the world, and this will be an exciting journey of building on the strengths of the past for a sustainable future.
“Fuller is one of those flagship Christian institutions, respected both for being on mission in terms of its work for the Kingdom and for its stellar academic reputation. We are proud and honored to be a part of strengthening that solid foundation,” said Magellan CEO Dr. Wayne Patton.
The assessment process will include data analysis and discussions with Fuller’s faculty, staff, and leadership, in order to gain insights in as inclusive a manner as possible. The assessment process will seek to identify and draw attention to Fuller’s unique strengths, while also identifying strategic opportunities for growth in the online education landscape.
Magellan will conduct much of its initial work remotely from its offices in Virginia but will visit the Pasadena campus in mid-January.
