“I have a passion for all forms of education because I have seen how it can change lives, and I have experienced that change myself. My father, grandfathers and great-grandfathers were all coal miners. They were all hard-working intelligent men, but they never had the opportunities afforded to them to attend a university. My parents made sure that me and my brothers had that opportunity. Once when my dad was laid off from the coal mine, I remember my grandfather telling me to ‘be sure to get a good education because people may take your job from you, but they can’t take what you have learned.’ I have never forgotten that, and this is why I love helping others achieve their educational goals.”
